Day 2 | The Road to the States
King Fut covers all the action on day two of the Road to the States football tournament in Gouna, with everyone’s mind set on early qualification.
After the tournament’s impressive opening day results, another good show of football was set to be served as some teams’ hopes of qualification were all but sealed while others were extinguished on day two.
Manor House 4:1 NIS
NIS were dealt a heavy loss against Manor House who put in a great performance. Manor House’s Mahmoud Yehia “Dea’bes” scored two goals while Ahmed Abdelkader and Karim Youssef scored the 3rd and 4th goals. NIS’s lonely goal was scored by Hathout. Dea’bes was named MOTM after a solid performance.
TBS 3:3 Maadi Narmer
This was definitely the most exciting match of day as there were goals and comeback all over. Maadi Narmer took the lead through a Youssef Medhat hattrick but TBS were resilient and came back to tie through two goals courtesy of Mohamed El Feky and a sole goal by Karim El Kholy. Hattrick hero Youssef Medhat was named MOTM.
MES 2:0 NAC
MES managed to defeat a tough NAC side through two goals by Zamalek youngster Seif Gafaar who was also named MOTM for the second consecutive match.
Hayah International Academy 0:1 NIS
This might seem as a slow match but it was the complete opposite. Yassin Nasouh scored the only goal of the match but defender Yousry Mahmoud was MOTM after he protected his goal followong the keeper’s sending off.
Maadi Narmer 0:2 Alsson
It looks like there is no stopping to Alsson as they recorded their second win. Al Ahly youngster Ibrahim Yassin was again on the score sheet after scoring the first goal to increase his tally to 5 goals in 2 matches. The second goal was scored by Ziad El Leithy. Narmer’s goalkeeper Hassan Medhat collected the MOTM award after saving his team from a lethal Ibrahim Yassin who could’ve scored not less than three more goals.
MAC 1:0 NIS
Youssef Mahmoud scored the match’s only goal to add another one to his name after scoring in day 1 against EBIS. Mahmoud was also named MOTM.
NAC 2:0 EBIS
After losing to MES in the beginning of the day NAC bounced back to increase their chances of qualifying to the next round. Once again the deadly attacking due, ex-Ahly SC and Atletico Madrid, Sherif Amr “Shiko” and Adham Abdarabou were on the score sheet scoring only minutes apart from each other.
The first two matches of day two featuring Alsson vs EBIS and AIMZ vs GPS ended goalless. Alsson started the scoring in their second match against AIMZ through a lonely goal by Aicha. The final match of the day was nothing short of exciting as EBIS defeated GPS 4-2. Batool was once again on the score sheet for her side, EBIS, as well as Fatima who scored twice and Yasso scoring the fourth. Salma and Malak El Kady scored GPS’s two goals.
