Ghana’s scored his first official goal since signing for Wadi Degla in the summer transfer window in his side’s draw against Tala’a El-Gaish.

The game got off to a quick start after El-Gaish, the home side, got their first chance through the left after a few seconds only for El-Hadary to acrobatically save.

Cool as you like, in the 29th minute, Samuel Afum broke the deadlock after a magnificent throughball from Ibrahim Abdel-Khalek to put his side ahead.

It appeared that Degla’s Mohamed Sherif had handled the ball before passing to Abdel-Khalek which caused outrage from El-Gaish players. Former Zamalek forward Ahmed Eid protested the handball and was shown a red card by the referee.

A few minutes later, the referee sent off El-Gaish’s assistant coach after his protest from the technical area.

Afum had the chance to double his side’s lead after he was sent through on goal again but sent his shot straight at the keeper.

Degla went on to miss chance after chance through their front line. 10 minutes into the second half, Afum had the chance to score again but his header was straight at the keeper from Talaat’s cross.

Minutes later, Senegal’s Ibrahima Ndiaye was close to putting the game to bed but another weak shot was saved by the keeper.

Things got complicated for the frustrating Degla side after substitute Hossam Arafat went through on goal but aimed his shot straight at the keeper.

Tala’a El-Gaish kept pushing forwards and you knew that the goal was coming after El-Gaish hit the bar from a freekick minutes before the end of the second half.

In the 93 minute, Degla left-back Sayed Salem handled the ball inside the box and Essan Salah managed to succesfully convert the resulting penalty.

The result leaves Wadi Degla in 9th place after five games with five points in the league while El-Gaish occupy 7th spot with 8 points.
