Posted on November 26, 2016

Egypt international  helped his side Racing Club de Lens earn a 1-0 home victory over Le Havre Athletic Club in gameweek 16 of Ligue 2.

The first half was balanced as both teams were attacking, but they failed to break the deadlock. Le Harve striker Ghislain Gimbert and Lens midfielder John Bostock were both booked in the first 45 minutes.

Six minutes into the second half, the hosts were already 1-0 up. Le Havre keeper and defense line failed to handle a cross from Hafez as striker Cristian Lopez tapped the ball home to give his side the lead in the 51st minute.

The guests failed to equalise until the referee blew the final whistle with the home side securing a 1-0 victory and collecting all three points.

The victory comes a week after RC Lens were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw against bottom-placed Auxerre. Following the win on Friday, they jumped from sixth to third in the league table with 26 points from 16 matches, while Le Havre sit fourth.

Lens will travel to play against Laval, who sit in the 17th position on 14 points, on Nov. 29.
