earned a comfortable 3-0 win over Dakhelya in ’s first game after his reappointment as the White Castle’s manager.

This marks Helmy’s second stint with the White Castle this year. He had resigned as Zamalek coach in July, before he was reappointed late in November as successor to Mohamed Salah.

Zamalek controlled the possession in the early minutes of the game yet failed to pose any danger on the opponent’s goal. At the 15-minute mark, they wasted a chance to open the scoring as headed the ball into ’s right post following a freekick from Shikabala.

Few minutes later, Dakhelya keeper Mahmoud El Gharabawy managed to keep the game goalless as he produced a fine save to deny Stanley Ohawuchi’s header, before the Nigerian striker misplaced his rebound.

Zamalek missed another good scoring chance when Dakhleya defender Hossam Abdel-Gawad headed the ball out before reaching the unmarked in the six-yard box.

The White Knights’ pressure finally paid off as Shikabala gave his side the lead in the 26th minute through a low drive from inside the box.

In the dying minutes of the first half, Ayman Hefny came on to replace injured Stanley Ohawuchi as Zamalek headed into the break with a 1-0 lead.

At the one-hour mark, keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy parried away Ahmed Gamal’s freekick to keep the score at 1-0 for his side.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Ahmed Refaat scored his first goal since joining Zamalek to double his side’s advantage, before Bassem Morsy made it 3-0 three minutes later.

Morsy, who was awarded a penalty after being tripped inside the penalty box, smashed the ball into the bottom left corner to put the game to bed with around 20 minutes to go.

Newly appointed coach Mohamed Helmy then brought on Mohamed Ibrahim, who was been out with injury since July to replace goalscorer Refaat.

Zamalek are now sixth in the league standings on 21 points, with four games in hand. They are scheduled to play against Aswan on Dec.8 in gameweek 14 of the league.
