Romanian manager has brushed off all claims that he would dig into his pocket to buy out his contract from Astra Giurgiu to join .

Zamalek president had confirmed Marius Șumudică is one of the front runners for Whites’ post after his dissatisfaction with the team’s performances under Mohamed Helmy, following the loss against Al Ahly which hurt their league chances.

Following the match, Zamalek president confirmed Șumudică and three others were considered for the job, something which was later confirmed by his agent Feras Ali to Egyptian media.

Feras Ali went on about how it would be an honor for them to join Zamalek, even if it meant digging into their pockets to buy out their contract from Astra Giurgiu.

Speaking to KingFut, Șumudică brushed off his agent’s comments claiming that he would never pay from his pocket to join Zamalek.

“I want everybody from Egypt to know that Șumudică is not free, he has a contract with a team in Europe. If Zamalek want to sign me then they must pay 150,000 USD to buy out my contract,” the 45-year-old told KingFut.

He continued: “Never will I pay from my pocket to join Zamalek. Firstly, if they want Șumudică then they must pay the money. Secondly, they must speak with me about the offer.

“I do not want this guy Feras Ali to speak in my name, he’s the friend of the president Mortada Mansour,” Șumudică expressed.

“If Zamalek want me then they will have to pay the clause, if not then no problem I’m happy at my club.

“It’s like this, if a player has a contract with one team, the other must pay the clause to buy him. How do I pay from my pocket to join Zamalek?” Șumudică questioned.

“If Zamalek pay my clause, I will arrive tomorrow in Egypt. If not, very easy, I stay here. I’m in my home, no problem,” concluded the Romanian.
