Egypt thrash Canada 4-0 in Military World Cup

The Egyptian national military team has managed to beat Canada 4-0 in the group stages of the Military World Cup in Oman.

The Egyptian starting line-up: Mohamed Awad; Mahmoud Hamdy, Hesham Tarek, Ahmed Sami, Mohamed Tarek; Nour El-Sayed, Mohamed Rizk, Mohamed Ashraf, Ahmed Eid, Ahmed El-Sheikh; Hossam Paulo.

The first half saw Tala’a El-Gaish’s Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek convert a penalty in the 38th minute. doubled their lead making it 2-0 after hit man Hossam Paulo managed to score a great header from Hesham Shehata’s cross three minutes after the first goal.

The second half saw Egypt score their third goal after a wonderful solo effort from Misr El-Makassa speedy winger Ahmed El-Sheikh who managed to pass through a number of players to score his second goal of the tournament in the 63rd minute.

Substitute Momen Zakaria then scored the fourth goal for Egypt in the 83rd minute after receiving a Amr Gamal pass on the edge of the box and then unleashing the ball with the Canadian goalkeeper not being able to do much.

This has earned Egypt the three points and lifted them to the first place of their group while waiting for the vs Poland match.

It’s worth noting that Egypt have drawn against Poland and are yet to face Syria in their final group match.
