National team manager  spoke about , Héctor Cúper, and his aim for this tournament ahead of his side’s encounter with in the .

Egypt is set to face the Atlas Lions in the quarter-finals of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, and Renard has revealed that he knows how to deal with a well-known Egyptian side.

“Everyone knows Egypt. They are really strong team who don’t enter any tournament without try winning it,” Renard said in his press conference ahead of Egypt’s game.

“I have faced them many times before, they have a fighting spirit and a winning mentality. I have never faced Héctor Cúper before, but I respect him and I see that’s tomorrow’s game is a good chance to face him.

“Every game is different and we will apply the appropriate plan to the game. We know that Egypt play with a defensive tactics and I know how to deal with that,” he added.

Morocco hadn’t made it beyond the group-stages of the AFCON since 2004, when they reached the final and lost to hosts Tunisia, but the French manager believes that his side can win it this time.

“Before the tournament, the aim was to reach the quarter-finals for the first time from 13 years. It is already a privilege to be in the last eight but now we need to be much more ambitious than that,” Renard added.

“Sometimes the Africa Cup can be more difficult than this so when you are lucky enough to safely negotiate the group stage against very strong teams you need to seize the opportunity. It would be extraordinary if we could go a lot further.

“I have already received some quite moving messages from people I know in Morocco, who maybe usually watch La Liga, Barcelona or Real Madrid. They are supporters of these teams but it is not the same thing. They are filled with pride just now.

“To be able to have a great party when we return to Morocco would be magnificent. And I know what I am talking about,” he concluded.

I think this match will show us if Cuper is the right man for the job or not.. We failed to win many matches against Zambia when Renard was their coach. The tactics and patience will show who will win this game. Egypt isn’t used to concede goals and then turn the game into a win. So if Morocco scores an early goal they will probably win.. Patience and being focused the whole game is the key for winning against Renard.
