A lively beginning to the match led to both sides seeing chances, with Dzeko and Peres coming closest to scoring. In the 39th minute, a great cross from De Rossi fell to Dzeko who chested the ball down and into the net.

In the second half, Roma was very much the team in charge of the game and in the 58th minute a De Rossi free kick was headed into goal by Fazio. It was Fazio’s first Serie A goal of the season.

In the 75th minute, Belgian international Nainggolan finished off a great team move and scored Roma’s third goal of the night.

Dzeko put the tie to bed as he added Roma’s fourth goal after a mistake by the Fiorentina defenders. Dzeko is now top scorer in Serie A with 17 goals.

Roma have won 14 consecutive Serie A home matches for the first time in their history.

This result leaves Roma in second place with 50 points from 23 games. Their next game is on Sunday February 12 against Crotone.
