Gamal blames playing conditions for Mali draw
coach has revealed the reason behind his team’s goalless draw yesterday against  in the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of the Nations.

The Young Pharaohs drew their first game in the Africa Cup of Nations against Mali, and their manager said that they desired the three points but the playing conditions were the reason behind that result.

“We wanted to win this game, but the playing conditions were very difficult”, said Gamal.

Despite the result, Metmed Gamal was satisfied with the point, stating that it was better than a loss, and promised to amend their mistakes in the next games against .

“In the absence of three points, it is better to leave with a point than a defeat. It’s a good point, though our target was the three points. We will correct our mistakes to move forward in the next game,” he added.

“My players know our goal and they delivered a good game. However, the conditions were not the best due to the rain,” the manager concluded.

are currently joint second with Mali, and their next game will be against fourth placed Guinea, who lost their opening game to Zambia, on Wednesday March 1.
