Arsenal suffer Champions League humiliation with 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern

The Gunners, who had a tough job on their hands following their 5-1 defeat in the first leg at the Allianz Arena, started the game with a very good attitude, with Theo Walcott opening the scoring after 20 minutes.

Eight minutes after the restart, Bayern were awarded a penalty and Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny was sent off for bringing down Robert Lewandowski in the area. Lewandowski converted the spot kick, ending any faint hopes of an Arsenal comeback.

Arjen Robben then made it 2-1 for Bayern in the 68th minutes before Douglas Costa added a third 10 minutes later. Arturo Vidal grabbed a late brace to make it 5-1 for the guests at the Emirates Stadium.

This marks the seventh consecutive elimination for the Gunners at the last-16 stage.
