Thabang Monare: We are not scared of Al Ahly

Bidvest Wits midfielder Thabang Monare has talked about game in the , saying that his team is not afraid of the Red Devils.

Al Ahly will host ’s Bidvest Wits on the 11th of March while the second leg will be played a week later at Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Clever Boys qualified to the round of 32 after beating Reunion’s St. Louisienne 4-3 on aggregate, losing 2-1 away from home then beating their opponents 3-1 in South Africa.

“We are not scared of them [Al Ahly], but we respect them as one of the biggest teams in Africa,” Monare told KickOff

“We are going there aware that we should be on our toes if we hope for a good result. Sundowns went there and came back with a result and that acts as an inspiration for us.

“We are going there to play our normal game. We saw what PSG did against Barcelona and we won’t do that mistake of sitting back,” he concluded.
