Al Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry assured that the team’s next match against  in the 2017 will be a tough match.

The Red Devils will head to South Africa to face Bidvest Wits on 19 March in the second leg match of the round of 32. Ahmed Hegazy gave Al Ahly the lead as he scored the match’s only goal sealing an important win for his team.

“I wish we scored more than one goal against Bidvest Wits but we were facing a special team, they were organized and had good physical strength,” El-Badry told 9090 radio station. “We should all not forget that last year’s champion was from South Africa. This gives us a good hint on how strong football is there.”

El-Badry expressed his optimism before the anticipated away game. He said that he is confident that his players can qualify to the next round. “What the media said about me scolding the players after the first match is deceptive. On the contrary, I thanked all players after the game for their good performance and efforts,” he explained.

The coach also talked about Junior Ajayi and Hossam Ghaly who were injured in the first leg match and might not make it to Johannesburg. “We’re waiting for the results of their medical scans to know the extent of their injuries, however, we do have ready substitutes that can fill their places.”

El-Badry revealed that in the away game he will be playing conservatively and will focus more on the players’ capabilities. “I will take advantage of the opponent’s offensive rush,” he concluded.
