’s manager Hector Cuper stressed that his main target is to qualify for the 2018 World Cup as he discussed the team’s preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup qualifiers.

After revealing his 25-man squad for the national team’s training camp, the Argentinian coach praised the national team players, saying that the new faces will have the chance to take part in Togo’s game on Tuesday.

“Our doors are open to all players and I have no personal disputes with anyone,” Cuper said in an interview with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) website.

The former Inter Milan coach also thanked the EFA for their full support since he started his mission with Egypt.

“The technical staff is receiving all the needed support from the EFA and its chairman Hany Abou-Rida,” Cuper said. “This helps us a lot whether in our preparations for the 2019 AFCON or World Cup qualifiers.”

Cuper had led Egypt in February to secure their spot in the final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations before losing the title to Cameroon.

“The current stage is the most important in the history of Egyptian football,” he added. “Qualifying for the World Cup has always been my number one goal since I took over.”

He added that he’s closely watching Tunisia and Uganda as Egypt will face the Carthage Eagles in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers in June before playing against Uganda, stressing the importance of Egypt’s encounter with the Cranes in the Pharaohs’ road to the 2018 World Cup.

The 61-year-old added that he is aware that not everyone is pleased with his style and that they have the right not to but he assured that he cares more about the results.

“I have no offers to coach other national teams. I respect my current contract with the Egyptian FA and I will continue leading the Egyptian national team,” he concluded.
