Manchester United legend described as an “exciting player” as he spoke about Egyptian players who played in the Premier League.

The former Wales footballer said during his visit to Egypt earlier in April – as part of the UEFA Champions League Trophy tour – that he knows three Egyptian players, namely Mohamed Salah, and .

“Mido obviously was a talented player,” Giggs said about former Tottenham Hotspur striker Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ who is currently the head coach of Egyptian side Wadi Degla.

“I think it’ll take a player to go to a top team to really show what they’re capable of,” Giggs added in a pre-taped interview that aired on ON Sport satellite channel on Friday.

“And now Elneny is at Arsenal, he’s probably in and out at the moment. He needs to be consistently on the team,” Giggs added, explaining that the 24-year-old midfielder needs more playing time.

Egypt international Mohamed Elneny, who joined the Gunners from Swiss side Basel in January 2016, featured in 23 games for Arsenal this season.

He also believes that Ramadan Sobhi, who joined Stoke from Cairo giants in July, needs to play a match every two weeks with the Potters.

“I know Mark Hughes, I know that he rates Ramadan highly. He’s still young. He’s 20. I guess he needs now to play a week in, week out.”

The Egypt international, who has so far made a total of 17 appearances in the league and the cup with Stoke City, was most recently nominated for the Golden Boy award, given to the most impressive player in Europe under the age of 21.

The 43-year-old star also spoke about AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, saying that he managed to succeed in Fiorentina and Roma in spite of the defensive nature of the Italian football.

“He’s a talented player, exciting player, left-footed. [It’s] always nice to see left-footed players. It just didn’t work out in Chelsea for whatever reason, but a talented player,” he added.

Salah, who had an unsuccessful stint with Chelsea, scored 15 goals in 35 appearances with the Giallorossi this season.
