Abdel-Hafiz confident Al Ahly can get positive result against Wydad

The Moroccan side will host Al Ahly in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League group stage on Wednesday. The Red Devils had already defeated Wydad in Alexandria 2-0 earlier this month.

“I have full confidence in Al Ahly players and they have enough experience to deal with such important games,” Abdel-Hafiz said.

Al Ahly are now joint top of their group with Zanaco at seven points, while Wydad sit at three points in third, and Cotton Sport languish at the bottom of the group with zero points.

The former Al Ahly player acknowledged the role of the Wydad fans, saying they’ll be an advantage for the Moroccan side, however, he stressed that Al Ahly players can deal with the pressure.

“Al Ahly players played in many similar matches and have the capability to be calm and come out of the match with a positive result,” added Abdel-Hafiz.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry, who named a 24-man squad for the crucial clash excluding only three players, assured that his men will be aiming to defeat Wydad in Morocco and secure a spot in the next round.
