Meteb excluded from Al Ahly squad for Zanaco

Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has announced a 22-man squad for his side’s crucial encounter with in the CAF Champions League group stage.

The Red Devils will travel to Zambia to face Zanaco FC in matchday 5 of the CAF Champions League group stage at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium on Saturday at 15:00 CLT.

The squad witnessed the exclusion of Mido Gaber, veteran striker Emad Meteb and left-back Hussein El-Sayed.

Al Ahly Squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Adel, Mohamed El-Shennawy.

Defenders: Ahmed Hegazy, Rami Rabia, Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Fathi, Sabri Rahil, Ali Maaloul.

Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour, Amr El-Sulaya, Saleh Gomaa, Momen Zakaria, Karim Nedved, Ahmed Hamoudi, Abdallah El-Said, Walid Soliman.

Forwards: Junior Ajayi, Amr Gamal.

Al Ahly, who suffered a 2-0 defeat against Wydad Casablanca in the previous game, currently sit second in Group D on seven points, three behind leaders Zanaco. The record eight-time African champions are one point above third-placed Wydad, who will travel to face Cameroon’s Cotonsport on Saturday.
