Zamalek chairman announced the departure of 10 players during the current summer transfer window after the CAF Champions League elimination.

The Cairo giants were knocked out of the African championship after a 2-2 home draw against Libyan side Ahli Tripoli in the round of 16 leaving Zamalek in third place with only six points.

“A lot of players don’t deserve to wear Zamalek’s t-shirt,” Mansour told ON Sport TV channel. “I think 10 players will leave the team this summer.”

Mansour assured that he will be the one in charge of rating players in the squad and not Inacio. “El-Shennawy was chipped during the match, El-Wensh strangely received a red card and a number of players were not performing well,” he explained.

When asked about names that will be excluded from Zamalek’s squad for next season he mentioned the names of Eslam Gamal, Stanley Ohawuchi, Emmanuel Mayuka, Mostafa Fathi and Ahmed Gafaar. “In addition to, Ali Fathi who has been injured since the start of the season, a left back, a midfielder and three attacking midfielders,” he added.

As for Bassem Morsi and Hossam Paolo, Mansour confirmed that both players will be staying with the team next season.

After the match, the chairman also revealed that the club’s head coach Augusto Inacio spoke with him days before Ahli Tripoli match regarding his departure. More details will follow regarding Inacio’s situation on Monday.
