ordered Egyptian side to pay $440,000 to Cameroonian striker for the unilateral termination of his contract.

Cameroonian side Union Sportive de Douala announced on their Facebook page that world governing body FIFA ruled in favour of their 22-year-old forward.

The story dates back to August 2016, when the Alexandria-based side terminated Nlend’s contract four days after signing him from Union Douala on a three-year deal. Ittihad terminated the his contract after announcing that the player failed his medical tests, claiming his blood test results came out positive for HIV.

The Cameroonian team then announced they’ll file a complaint to FIFA against Ittihad of Alexandria for a “breach of contract and defamation”.

“FIFA ruled in favour of Samuel Nlend and in their dispute with Egyptian club Ittihad of Alexandria over the unilateral termination of the player’s contract,” Douala announced on their Facebook page last week.

“FIFA has ordered the Alexandrian club to pay a compensation of $440,000 to Samuel Nlend,” the statement added.
