Ismaily 1-0 Al-Ittihad of Alexandria
Ismaily continued their winning start to the Egyptian Premier League season beating Ittihad of Alexandria 1-0 in their second match on Friday.
Ahmed Khairy scored his second goal in consecutive matches after rebounding off of Nigerian Ndubuisi Godwin’s shot from close range in the 8th minute, after El-Hany Soliman’s initial save.
The Dervishes also had midfielder Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz sent-off in the 52nd minute but the 10-men managed to hold onto the win which sees them on top of Group B with 6 points, while Ittihad lay at the bottom with their second straight defeat following last week’s 2-0 loss to Zamalek.
Gouna 1-1 Misr El-Maqassa
In Group A, Maqassa held Gouna to a 1-1 draw after Hussein Hamdy struck in the 60th minute to cancel Karim El-Daw’s first half header in the 39th minute. Both sides claimed their first points of the season with Gouna having a bye last week.
Ghazl El-Mahalla 1-1 ENPPI
In the final match on Saturday, Moemen Zakaria struck in the 71st minute to gift ENPPI a well deserved 1-1 draw with Mahalla after Mohamed Rezq opened the scoring with a skillful effort.
