Villarreal seek loan deal for Egypt’s El-Sulaya

Amr El-Sulaya

Spain’s  have opened formal negotiations with Ismaily to sign Egypt midfielder on loan, according to his club’s official website.

The Dervishes said that an offer from the Yellow Submarine arrived this week, enquiring about a potential one-year loan for the talented Amr El-Sulaya.

The 24-year-old central midfielder will undergo a trial at El Madrigal by the end of May, after Ismaily’s CAF Confederation Cup clash against Tunisia’s Bizertin (May 19), according to the club’s official website.

Ismaily expect Villarreal to make an official offer for Amr once the Egyptian international passes his medical following the trial, the club added.

El-Sulaya was called-up by Bob Bradley to the national team’s training camp prior to Egypt’s World Cup qualifier in March, but missed out on the clash with Zimbabwe due to injury. In total, Sulaya has won 12 caps with Egypt since making his debut in August 2010.

The Egypt international is Ismaily’s joint-top scorer so far in this season’s Egyptian Premier League with four goals and two assists.

Villarreal are pushing for a return to the Spanish Primera Liga after the former UEFA Champions League semi-finalists were relegated last season, and currently lie fourth in the second division table.
