CAF Champions League 2nd leg final: Al Ahly vs Orlando Pirates – LIVE

Follow minute-by-minute commentary of the second leg of the African Champions League final between Al Ahly and  at Arab Contractors Stadium on Sunday Nov 10, 2013, kick-off 18:00 (Cairo time).

Al Ahly of Egypt aim for their eight trophy while the Pirates of South Africa target their second, with their only triumph in 1995.

Al Ahly XI (4-2-3-1): Sherif Ekramy; Sherif Abdel-Fadil, Wael Gomaa [c], Mohamed Naguib, Sayed Moawad; Ahmed Fathi, Hossam Ashour; Abdullah El-Said, Walid Soliman, Mohamed Abou-Treika; Ahmed Abdel-Zaher.

Orlando Pirates XI: Meyiwa; Matlaba, Lekgwathi [c],  Gcaba, Mahamutsa, Manyisa, Masalesa, Klate, Segolela, Myeni, Bacela. 

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to this CAF Champions League Final Second-Leg. Al Ahly up against Orlando Pirates of South Africa.

1- The game has in fact kicked off, both teams hungry for the win.

3- Corner to Orlando Pirates, Ekramy handles it well.

6- The tempo has been very fast. Still no shots on goal, though.

7- Orlando Pirates using two players to press high up the pitch. Gomaa and Naguib have to be very careful.

9- Pirates have a free-kick in a very dangerous area.

9- Easily handled by Ekramy.

11- Corner Al Ahly, shaky defending from the Buccaneers.

11- Another corner.

12- Abdel-Zaher’s header over the bar.

15- Corner Al Ahly.

15- Naguib’s header goes inches wide.

17- Really good work from Fathi on the left, plays it well into Abdallah El-Said who cannot wrap his foot around it.

20- WELL DONE EKRAMY- great save to deny Segolela.

22- Great effort from Abdel-Zaher! Tipped over the bar by Meyiwa.

26- Ahly dominating possession in the past few minutes.

28- Free-kick Orlando on the edge of the box, really dangerous position.

28- Turns it out it was 32 meters away from goal. The shot goes wide.

31- Matlaba fires into the hands of Ekramy. Easy save.

34- Lekgwathi’s shot deflected and out for a corner.

36- The main problem with the offside trap. Segolela allowed a free header but it goes wide.

37- Hossam Ashour down injured, let’s hope it’s not serious.

40- Hossam Ashour back on the field. Free-kick near the touchline for Al Ahly.

42- Free-kick cleared by the Buccaneers.

44- Abdel-Zaher in a one-on-one position against Meyiwa, but the latter deals with it well.

45- Fantastic interception from Fathi!

HALF TIME- AL AHLY 0-0 ORLANDO PIRATES. Altercation between both sets of players heading into half time.

SECOND HALF KICKS OFF!

46- Pirates have a corner.

47- Cleared well by Ekramy.

50- A backpass from Abdel-Fadil couldn’t led to a goal. CAREFUL.

54- ABOUTREEEEEEEEIKKKKKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EL MAGICO!!!

54- Abdullah El-Said’s deflected shot falls to Aboutreika who finishes past Meyiwa.

58- Free-kick Al Ahly near the touchline. Sherif Abdel-Fadil with a really good run.

60- Klate’s surprise shot handled well by Ekramy.

63- Pirates miss a glorious chance.

66- Abdel-Zaher could’ve made it 2-0, but the ball goes wide.

70- Uneventful few minutes. Al Ahly solid at the back, Pirates dominating possession.

72- Walid Soliman down injured, enormous amount of work on the left-hand side.

73- AL AHLY SUB- WALID SOLIMAN (OFF) AHMED SHEDID (ON).

75- Mbesuma was through on goal, but four Ahly players put him to a halt. Great defending.

76- ORLANDO PIRATES SUB- SEGOLELA (OFF) MASALESA (ON).

78- AHMED ABDEL-ZAHHHHHEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

78- Ahmed Fathi’s attempted shot fell to Abdel-Zaher who makes it 2-0.

83- Sherif Abdel-Fadil sent off. Ahly have to play with 10 men for the remaining 7 minutes.

85- AL AHLY SUB- ABDEL-ZAHER (OFF) RAMI RABIA (ON).

86- Free-kick Pirates, very dangerous position.

86- PIRATES SUB: KLATE (OFF) MALONGWANE (ON).
