KingFut’s Recommended Fixtures of the Week

Mohamed Salah - FC Basel vs Chelsea UCL

We are back to league matches after an exciting international fixtures week. Some players will benefit from their morals which are reaching the sky after they qualified to the most important competition of international football: the World Cup; and some other players have to go over their frustration and try to focus with their clubs.

Saturday

Arsenal vs. Southampton – English Premier League – 17:00 Cairo time

A very challenging match for the Gunners to maintain their leadership this season. After last match’s loss against Manchester United Arsenal fans hope to put that result behind them and enjoy watching their team winning and leading the BPL. However, Southampton is not an easy team at all, they are currently occupying the 3rd position with some big performance and great results this season.

Hull City vs. Crystal Palace – English Premier League – 17:00 Cairo time

An exciting match for Egyptian fans who hope to see Gedo playing in the best league in the world. He hasn’t had a lot of playing time this season because of the injury he suffered at the end of the last season, but he seems to be on his way to return back to his form after his goal against Ghana last week. While the other Egyptian Elmohamady is one of the key players of the Tigers who are performing good this season and are at a mid table position till now.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munchen – Bundesliga – 19:30 Cairo time

One of the most exciting derbies in recent times, the two greatest teams in Germany and maybe in Europe. I can only mention that these two teams finished as a champion and runner-up respectively in all the competitions they participated in last season. Pep Guardiola wants to get his first win at the German derby after the loss at the Super Cup at the start of the season against Dortmund. But playing at the Signal Iduna Park against the best fans in the world as many people believe is not an easy mission at all.

Sunday

Man City vs. Spurs – English Premier League –  15:30 Cairo time

An exciting match between two big teams in England who have very skillful squads, but not in very good positions in the table after 11 matches. Both teams are looking forward to grab the match points to climb the table towards the top 4.

Tuesday

Basel vs. Chelsea – UEFA Champions League –  21:45 Cairo time

A hard game for the Swiss champions who are looking to reach the next round at the UEFA Champions league. The only win Basel achieved in the group stage was against Chelsea, but it will not be easy to repeat. Egyptian fans hope to see their stars Salah and El-Nenny shine against Mourinho’s side again and possibly witness Salah score against Cech for at least the third time. It is always interesting to watch Pharaohs Abroad playing against such big teams, no matter the final result of the match.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Napoli – UEFA Champions League –  21:45 Cairo time

Another competitive match for Dortmund within three days. It is interesting to say that Group F is the most exciting group this season as nothing to be determined yet where we have three top teams fighting for two places in the next round of the UEFA Champions League. This match is very important for Dortmund to keep their chances of qualifying alive while a victory for Napoli will surely take them to the next round.

Wednesday

Juventus vs.  Kobenhavn – UEFA Champions League – 21:45 Cairo time

Although it seems an easy match for Juventus but they made it hard for themselves after failing to win any matches till now. This match is very critical for Juventus to keep their chances to finish second in Group C and reach the next round along with Real Madrid. Juventus will be looking also for a gift from Real Madrid when they face Galatasaray at the Bernabeu, so that Juventus can travel to Turkey with some advantage before meeting the Turkish side in the final round.
