In a farewell interview with FC Basel, spoke of his motivation to play for one of the best teams in the world, while adding that Basel will be missed.

Mohamed Salah who recently became the first Egyptian to sign for Chelsea gave his thoughts on his move to FC Basel as he was departing. On moving to he said, “I am very very happy, [It is impressive that] maybe after one and a half years in Europe I go to , one of the best teams in the world and I hope I can play for and make a good career for myself.”

He then added, “Yes sure [It is a dream come true], it is one of the big teams in the world and I hope I can make a good career.”

Salah thanked the FC Basel fans and said, “I will miss everybody and I won’t forget this [support].”

At the end in Arabic he said, “Thank you, I thank everyone and I hope you support me at Chelsea.”
