OFFICIAL: Zamalek President Mortada Mansour runs for Egypt Presidency
Recently elected Zamalek president Mourtada Mansour has announced his decision to run for Egypt presidency.
Mansour was recently elected as the Whites’ president after fierce competition from then interim-president Kamal Darwich, but looks like that’s not enough for him as he decides to run for Egypt’s Presidency.
This is the second time in less than three years where Mortada announces his decision to run for Egypt’s presidency as he announced his intention of running for president in 2012 but was disqualified along with popular figures such as Muslim Brotherhood leader Khairat El-Shater and Hazem Salah Abou-Ismail.
Mortada will go head to head with another man that ran for presidency in 2012, Hamdeen Sabahy but both face tough competition from former Army Field Marshal, Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi.
The elections are set to take place on the 26th and 27th of May, 2014.
