Shehata appointed coach of Moroccan outfit Difaa El Jadida

have appointed former Zamalek and Egyptian national team coach Hassan Shehata as manager of the club for the next two seasons.

Moroccan outfit Difaa El Jadida have an agreement with former Zamalek and Egyptian national team coach Hassan Shehata as a replacement for Abdel Haq Ben Shiha who has been appointed manager of Raja Casablanca, according to Shehata.

“I have agreed to manage Difaa El Jadida for the next two seasons,” Said Shehata.

The Egyptian then said that he’ll take on his new role after returning from Brazil, as he was invited to attend the opening ceremony at the World Cup.

The Moroccan club and will finalise the deal after the arrival of the clubs president who will then officially announce Shehata’s arrival.

Difaa El Jadida were knocked out by Al Ahly in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup round of 16 and the club will be looking to come back stronger next year under Shehata’s guidance.

Hassan Shehata, who is Egypt’s most successful national team coach winning the African Cup of Nations three times in a row (2006,2008,2010) – first one being Egypt’s first AFCON title in 8 years – was also voted CAF Coach of the Year in 2008.

After leaving the Egyptian national team, Hassan Shehata had a brief stint managing Al Arabi while also taking an advisory role at German club 1860 Munich.
