Farag Amer: Hamoudi to travel to Switzerland after Cup final
Following Smouha’s Egypt Cup semi-final win over Al Ahly, the Alexandrian club’s president confirmed that Ahmed Hamoudi will travel to Switzerland after the Cup final match against Zamalek ahead of his FC Basel move.
Ahmed Hamoudi was linked to a move to FC Basel of Switzerland with Smouha confirming that terms have been agreed with the Swiss side for the player’s transfer.
Speaking on Egyptian TV, Farag announced: “Hamoudi will travel to Switzerland after the game against Zamalek.”
In other news, the Egyptian FA have confirmed that the Cup final is set to be played in Aswan. This decision did not go well with both Farag Amer and Zamalek president Mortada Mansour as they announced their refusal to play in Aswan.
“Smouha have officially submitted their refusal to play the match against Zamalek in Aswan. The soaring temperature there makes it hard for this match to go ahead. We don’t mind it being played in Cairo or Borg El Arab stadium,” stated Amer.
In addition to that, Mortada Mansour swore on live TV that Zamalek will not play in Aswan.
“I swear to god we will not play in Aswan. The player’s are in bad form while playing in Cairo’s temperature, how do you expect them to play in Aswan?” said Mortada expressing his anger at the Egypt FA.
In addition to that, the Egypt FA declared that the Cup final will be played without the attendance of the fans.
Smouha made it to the final after their revenge match against Al Ahly where they beat them 2-1 while Zamalek made it through after beating Wadi Degla on penalties.
