VIDEO: William Jebor waiting for work permit to join Rio Ave
Liberian attacker William Jebor waiting to receive his work permit so he can begin playing alongside Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka’ at Portuguese club Rio Ave, according to Portuguese paper ‘Record’.
The 22-year-old striker – who last season played for Al-Ahly Tripoli in Libya, is still waiting for his paperwork to be completed before he can officially join Rio Ave.
On Monday, Koka revealed that Jebor had begun training with the team and that he had signed for the Vila do Conde side. However, there has been no official confirmation yet, and he was also not a part of the squad that beat Gil Vicente in a friendly on Wednesday.
Back in January, Gil Vicente had also attempted to sign Jebor, but the deal fell through due to bureaucratic issues, leading for him to be very strongly linked with Zamalek and also Benfica.
Next Friday, Rio Ave will present the squad to the general public followed by a game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, where Jebor may be seen in action for the first time.
It is worth mentioning that Zamalek president Mortada Mansour swore on William Jebor’s mother’s grave on live TV that Liberian will play for Zamalek next year whether he likes it or not.
