’s Egyptian winger has changed his kit number from 15 to 17.

The 22-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Basel in January, was previously wearing the number 15 shirt.

Salah posted a picture on Instagram after last week’s friendly against AFC Wimbledon stating that it was the last time he would play with the number 15 shirt.

The number 17 was made available when team-mate Eden Hazard took the number 10.

It is still unknown why Mohamed Salah switched to 17, with some reports suggesting that leaving the number 15 vacant could be beneficial as a Chelsea are looking to bring back Didier Drogba, who may want his former number back.
