Zürich defeat Kahraba’s Grasshoppers 3-1
Within 15 minutes of the whistle being blown, Brazilian midfielder Caio scored the opening goal for Grasshoppers, assisted by Yaic Ranet.
After just 10 minutes, 24-year-old Cameroonian attacker Franck Etoundi retaliated with an equalizing goal for Zürich, assisted by Philippe Koch.
The second half was quiet, until midfielder Francisco Jose Rodriquez scored the second goal for Zürich in the 75th minute.
Coincidentally, their third goal was again scored by Franck Etoundi and assisted by Philippe Koch, similar to their first goal.
Grasshoppers coach Michael Skibbe had to urgently re-construct the game within the last 10 minutes, bringing on Mahmoud Kahraba in place of Anatole Ngamkol.
However, this did not help the underdogs as Zürich bombarded their area with a total of 10 shots and 57% dominating possession.
FC Zürich are now on top of Ahmed Hamoudi and Mohamed El-Nenny’s FC Basel in the league table, with just one point ahead.
Grasshoppers are now down to 8th place with just 11 points, and their next fixture will be on the 26th of October against FC Vaduz.
