Injury shuffle ahead of Zamalek’s clash with Al Masry

Ahmed Hefni

Zamalek have released their squad list ahead of their upcoming league match with Al Masry on Saturday.

Playmaker Ayman Hefny and vice-captain Ibrahim Salah return to the Zamalek camp after recovering from injury. Hefny has been forced to watch from the sidelines for the past two games while Salah returns after missing the 5-goal thriller vs Al-Ragaa.

Zamalek captain Hazem Emam has been left out of the squad due to the muscular injury he picked up while on international duty with Egypt in their African Cup of Nations Qualifying match with Senegal. The club announced on Thursday that Emam will need 10 days to recover and will miss the games against Al Masry and Ismaily.

First choice goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy remains sidelined from the ankle injury he aggravated while also on international duty.

Midfielder Mostafa Fathi and Burkinabé forward Abdoulaye Cissé have both been left out by Jaime Pacheco for technical reasons.

Zamalek squad vs Al Masry:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed Abou Gabal, Mahmoud Gennesh

Defenders: Omar Gaber, Ahmed Dweidar, Hamada Tolba, Ali Gabr, Mohamed Koffi, Ahmed Samir

Midfielders: Moruf Yusuf, Tarek Hamed, Ibrahim Salah, Mohamed Shaaban, Ahmed Tawfik, Ahmed Eid, Aymen Hefny, Momen Zakaria

Forwards: Khaled Kamar, Ahmed Ali, Basem Morsi

Zamalek currently top the league table with 18 points, one point ahead of second placed ENPPI.

The White Knights are still unbeaten in their domestic season and have won their past 4 games while only conceding 2 goals.
