Ahmed Adel out of action for one month, Ghaly misses Smouha match
Al Ahly goalkeeper Ahmed Adel Abdel-Monem will be sidelined for one month due to the injury he picked up in the CAF Confederation Cup final against Sewe Sport last Saturday.
Juan Carlos Garrido will be forced to rely on 21-year-old goalkeeper Mossad Awad to represent the Red Devils, as Ahmed Adel, 27, sustained an injury in the Confederation Cup victory last Saturday, while Sherif Ekramy is also injured.
Abdel-Monem’s injury was identified as a tear in the rear muscle and the medical staff decided that he will be out of action for one month.
The former Egypt U-20 goalkeeper Awad, who was the top-performing shot stopper at the 2013 African Youth Championship, joined Al Ahly from Ismaily on a 4-year deal that summer, but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the club.
In addition to Ahmed Adel’s injury, the team’s captain, Hossam Ghaly, will be missing the upcoming Egyptian Premier League fixture against Smouha as he suffers from exertion in the rear muscle.
Al Ahly will be playing their next league match on Thursday against Smouha in Alexandria.
