Egyptian duo combine as Hamoudi scores, El-Nenny assists in Basel cup rout

Ahmed Hamoudi opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Mohamed El-Nenny headed down from a long ball to Hamoudi who controlled it and smashed it into the back of the net to give the away side the lead.

In the 24th minute Yoichiro Kakitani doubled Basel’s lead. Ten minutes later Breel Embolo scored Basel’s third.

Matias Delgado scored Basel’s fourth from the spot in the 41st minute and Kakitani made it five two minutes before half time.

Kakitani completed his hat-trick in the second half when he scored Basel’s sixth in the 59th minute.

Pluss scored a late conciliation goal for the home side in the 81st minute to make the final scoreline 6-1.

FC Basel move onto the next round, the semi-final, after a staggering 76% possession against Münsingen.
