Al Ahly will face Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the first fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages. Mabrouk made some changes to the side that defeated Petrojet in the club’s previous match.

The squad list has witnessed the exclusion of Egypt’s veteran Emad Meteb, while Ramadan Sobhy and Mohamed Hany also miss out due to suspension.

Meanwhile Nigerian striker Peter Ebimbowei’s absence continues due to injury.

Al Ahly squad:

Goalkeepers: Ahmed Adel, Mosaad Awad.

Defenders: Mohamed Naguib, Bassem Ali, Saad Samir, Sabry Rahil, Sherif Hazem, Hussein El-Sayed.

Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour, Mohamed Rizk, Islam Roshdy, Walid Soliman, Abdallah El-Said, Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’, Momen Zakaria.

Forwards: Amr Gamal, Salahdin Said, Ahmed Abdel-Zaher.

The Red Devils will strive to earn their first three points in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign, as they aim to defend their championship.

Mohammed Salama is a 20-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
