Ivory Coast’s Giovanni Sio signs for Stade Rennais

Ivory Coast’s Giovanni Sio has signed for French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais after leaving FC Basel.

The French born striker spent one and a half seasons in Switzerland before going on loan to SC Bastia in the second half of last season.

The 26-year-old Ivorian has signed a three-year deal at the French side who finished fifth in Ligue 1.

Sio leaves behind Mohamed El-Nenny and Ahmed Hamoudi at FC Basel having previously played with Mohamed Salah at the Basel based club.
