Bassem Youssef comically tweets about commentator Mahmoud Bakr

Egypt satirist Bassem Youssef took to Twitter over his frustration of commentator Mahmoud Bakr’s mistakes during Zamalek’s game versus Al-Nasr.

Egyptian commentator Mahmoud Bakr repeatedly mistook Zamalek striker ’s name for satirist Bassem Youssef during the Whites’ league match against Al-Nasr on Wednesday. It was not for the first time, either.

Youssef took to Twitter over the matter, and admitted that he is not as good as the Egypt striker, who scored a hat-trick as Zamalek beat Al-Nasr 4-0.

Bassem Youssef said: “Looks like I play for Zamalek and I don’t know about it. It’s a pity I’m not as good as Bassem Morsi.”

He then followed that tweet with another, saying: “I support Al Ahly but Mahmoud Bakr always says my name instead of Bassem Morsi. Reputation is more important than money.”

It is worth noting that the Whites now need a sole point from their next four games to secure the Egyptian Premier League title for the first time since the 2003/04 season.
