Al Ahly announce squad for upcoming Getafe friendly

Al Ahly have today announced their full squad for their upcoming friendly with La Liga side Getafe.

Al Ahly will travel to Spain this weekend for the friendly tie with Getafe, with the match being used in preparation for crucial upcoming CAF Confederations Cup ties. “The team will leave next Saturday to Spain where we will hold a short training camp before playing the friendly match against Getafe CF on September 3,” Al Ahly officials announced earlier this week.

The squad for the trip to Spain has today been announced, with the current CAF Confederations Cup holders naming a strong selection of players for the trip, albeit it without some notable absentees including injured new signings Malick Evouna and John Antwi.

Al Ahly squad to face Getafe –

Goalkeepers: Ahmed Adel, Mosaad Awad

Defenders: Mohamed Naguib, Hazem Sherif, Sherif Abdul-Fadil, Sabry Raheel, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hani, Bassem Ali

Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour, Saleh Gomaa, Ahmed El-Sheikh, Hossam Galal, Ahmed Abdel-Rassoul

Forwards: Emad Metab, Ahmed Abdel-Zaher, Hamdy Zaki, Mohamed Nagy ‘Gedo,

The Cairo based giants will be looking for a positive result in order to build momentum for their crucial final CAF Confederations Cup Group stage match next month. Al Ahly currently hold top spot in their group, holding off Etoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia on goal difference leading into the last match, with Al Ahly needing a win against Stade Malien to secure a first place finish.
