Egypt’s Football Association announces league to start October 21
The Chairman of Competitions Committee for the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), Amer Hussein, stated on Tuesday that the opening day for the 2015-2016 Egyptian Premier League is October 21.
The FA had recently announced October 17th as the opening day, but Tuesday’s announcement pinpoints the 21st as the new start of the league. Hussein stated the importance of giving security forces 48 hours after the parliamentary elections to prepare themselves to secure the matches. The first phase of elections will take place on October 18 and 19.
Hussein also revealed, “The league draw will take place on September 20, in order to announce the games and the venues of the games. The full schedule will not be released, as we are aware in this country, circumstances will arise prompting us to reschedule some matches.”
