Al Ahly volleyball team lose first game of world championship

African champions Al Ahly fell to a 3-0 defeat against Paykan Tehran VC in the first game of the Volleyball Club World Championship.

Al Ahly, who were potted in Group B alongside Paykan Tehran VC of Iran and UPCN San Juan of Argentina, lost the first set to their opponent with a score of 25-19.

Paykan Tehran continued their outstanding performance and managed to end the second set with a score of 25-20 before claiming the third as well 25-15.

Al Ahly will play their second game of the tournament on Wednesday against UPCN San Juan of Argentina.

The semi-finals are set to take place on 30th of October with the third-place match and final taking place a day later.

The 2015 edition of the six-club tournament takes place in Brazil.
