Tarek El-Ashry Joins Arab Contractors

Just days after the resignation of former manager Hassan Shehata, Arab Contractors have hired a new manager – Tarek El-Ashry.

Shehata resigned as manager of the Mountain Wolves on Friday after a disappointing start to the season. The board members of the Cairo-based club wasted no time in finding a new manager.

Tarek El-Ashry most recently was the manager of UAE’s El-Shaab, who are currently in last place in the UAE Arabian Gulf League. In Egypt, El-Ashry last coached ENPPI to a second place position in the league before resigning last summer.

El-Ashry will begin his position as manager tomorrow, in preparations of Arab Contractors’ next league match against Mahalla.

El-Ashry has had previous success in Egypt. The nationally-acclaimed manager received plaudits after leading Haras El-Hodood to two straight Egypt Cup titles in 2009 and 2010. He also led them to win the 2009 Egyptian Super Cup after defeating Al Ahly.

Mohaned Ghanem, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Avid supporter of all things Egypt, especially Al Ahly. Gooner.
