Former Zamalek coach has arrived in Doha on Tuesday in order to negotiate with Qatari side Al-Sadd over the possibility of taking over the team.

Former Zamalek coach Ferreira had left the Egyptian champions following disagreements with club president Mortada Mansour, who had previously made it crystal clear that he was not satisfied with many of the Portuguese coach’s technical decisions.

Jesualdo Ferreira arrived in Doha at dawn on Tuesday to negotiate with Al-Sadd to become the club’s new manager; however, the club confirmed hours later that they are still in the negotiations stage.

Mohammed Ghanem al-Ali, head of football at Al-Sadd told the club’s official website: “We are still negotiating with him on different matters and the picture will become clear in the following hours. If an agreement is reached, confirmation will be announced through the official channels.”

“If Al-Sadd do not reach an agreement with Ferreira, then Amouta will stay on as manager until the end of the season,” he added.

Al-Sadd signed legendary Spain midfielder and ex-Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez over the summer. The club currently sits in third place in the league with 21 points from 9 matches, with their current Moroccan coach Hussein Amouta.
