Koka sent off in Braga’s win against Belenenses
Egypt’s Ahmed Hassan Kouka was sent off in Braga’s victory against Belenenses 2-1 in the Taça da Liga.
Braga scored their first of the match in the 13th minute through Pedro Santos with a beautiful solo goal that gave his team the lead. Afterwards, Rui Fonte doubled the score after netting the second for his team in the 31st minute from a wonderful cross and landed the ball in the net.
The Archbishops gained their first three points to top Group D that includes Belenenses, Rio Ave and Leixões.
Ahmed Hassan Kouka started the match and made several chances on goal; however, the Egyptian striker was sent off in the 54th minute to leave his team with 10 players till the end of the match.
Belenenses managed to pull a goal in the 89th minute but it was too late as Braga snatched their first win.
Braga will face Leixões on the 20th of January in their second match in hopes of a second win that will raise their chances in advancing to the knockout stage.
Koka had not scored in his last 10 matches with Braga prior to tonight, and his red card will see the drought continue.
