BREAKING: Zamalek sack Paqueta, hire Mido

Mido

Zamalek SC have appointed Ahmed Hossam Mido as manager after sacking Brazilian Marcos Paqueta.

Paqueta took charge of the team after the departure of Portugese coach Jesualdo Ferreira less than two months ago. He was in charge for five games winning twice and drawing twice as well as losing against Tala’a El-Gaish.

According to several reports, club legend Hazem Emam is set to be appointed Director of Football instead of Ismail Youssef but this is yet to be confirmed by the club.

Mido is set to be joined by Mohamed Salah as first team coach, Medhat Abdel-Hady as assistant coach and lastly Ayman Taher as goalkeeper’s coach.

Mido returns to the club after he had left on mutual consent over a year ago. The ex-Tottenham striker managed to win the Egypt Cup on his first season as manager with Zamalek.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
