Entag El-Harby captain Mahmoud Fathalla inspired his team to a 3-0 win over Haras El-Hodood in the 15th fixture of the Egyptian Premier League.

The two-time Africa Cup of Nations champion had moved to Entag El-Harby last summer following his one year stint with Tala’a El-Gaish.

Entag faced no real threat and swiftly dominated the game from start to finish. The first goal of the game came in the 38th minute of the first-half through Fathalla. Just four minutes later, Entag was awarded a penalty and Fathalla stepped up to take it, successfully converting it into a goal. The second half still saw dominance from Entag’s players. In the 92nd minute of the match, Fathalla completed his hat-trick after scoring the second penalty of the night. With this hat-trick, the ex-Zamalek defender is the highest scoring defender in the this season with five goals to his name.

Mahmoud Fathalla is the second defender in the history of the Egyptian Premier League to score a hat-trick along with current Aswan manager Emad El-Nahhas. El-Nahhas had scored a hat-trick during Al-Ahly’s 6-0 thrashing of Ittihad of Alexandria in 2005.

After this win, Entag El-Harby rose to 10th place with 20 points from 15 games. On the other hand, El-Hodood reside in the relegation zone with five points from 15 games played.
