Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka’ scored a brace against his former club, as Braga trashed  in the 19th round of the .

​​Braga consolidated their position in fourth place in the league after trashing Rio Ave 5-1, with ​Egypt international forward, Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka’ scoring a brace taking his tally this season to nine goals.

​Braga’s fans didn’t have to wait long as Hassan opened the scoreline for the hosts after just 11 minutes from a header inside the six-yard box.

Seven minutes later Koka scored his ninth goal of the season when he headed the ball from a close range.

​In the second half, Rio Ave pulled one back through FC Porto loanee Joris Kayembe in the 47th minute.

Braga responded by scoring twice in just two minutes as another former Rio Ave player Pedro Santos, assisted by Koka, and the Portuguese midfielder Rafa Silva scored in the 64 and 66 minutes respectively.

​The Archbishops fifth goal came from Benfica loanee Rui Fonte in the 75 minute.

It’s worth noting that Koka played at Rio Ave for three seasons before joining Sporting Braga last summer for a fee reported to be around €700 thousand.

This win now means Sporting Braga are in fourth position with 35 points, while Rio Ave sit in 7th place with 25 points.

Sporting ​Braga’s next game will be against Rio Ave on the January 27th in the Taça da Liga.
