Meteb’s squad exclusion continues against Ghazl El-Mahalla
The league leaders are looking to go back to winning ways after a goalless draw against Tala’a El-Gaish in the previous round.
The list witnessed the absence of veteran striker Emad Meteb for the third game in a row. He was excluded from Zamalek game after a row with Saleh Gomaa and Zizo, before he missed El-Gaish match for technical reasons.
Al Ahly midfielder Hossam Ashour was also excluded due to lack of fitness, following his recovery from injury.
The list of absentees also included Walid Soliman, Bassem Ali and Ahmed Adel Abdel Moneim due to injury, while youngster Ahmed Hamdy and defender Saad Samir were left out due to technical reasons.
The team’s right-back Ahmed Fathy returned to squad after recovering from his Zamalek game injury.
Ahmed El-Sheikh, who was repeatedly excluded from squad, as well as Mohamed Naguib, was included for El-Mahalla game.
Al Ahly Squad:
Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Mosaad Awad and Ahmed Rabie El-Sheikh.
Defenders: Ahmed Fathy, Hussein El-Sayed, Ahmed Hegazy, Rami Rabia, Mohamed Naguib, Mohamed Hany and Sabry Raheel.
Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Mo’men Zakaria, Ahmed El-Sheikh, Abdallah El-Said, Amr Al-Sulaya, Ramadan Sobhy and Saleh Gomaa.
Forwards: Malick Evouna, Amr Gamal and John Antwi.
The Red Devils top the league table with 39 points, while El-Mahalla lie in the 17th position after collecting six points only.
The match is scheduled to be played on Thursday at 17:00 CLT.
