Helmy Toulan appointed as new Smouha manager

Smouha SC have announced the appointment of Helmy Toulan as the club’s new manager after signing for one-and-half years.

The Alexandrian club accepted yesterday the resignation of the former coach Mimi Abdel-Razek who decided to quit his job following his first loss with the club against Petrojet.

Helmy Toulan has previously been appointed as Smouha’s manager as he replaced French manager Denis Lavagne. The ex-Zamalek boss helped the club to avoid the relegation in the previous season.

Toulan also guided the club through their first CAF champions league campaign helping them to reach the group stages.

However just two days ahead of Smouha’s group stage debut, Toulan was sacked from his position following the disputes that rose between him and the president of the club, Mohamed Farag Amer, regarding the club’s signings and future.

However Amer has insisted that the disputes have ended now and it is all clear between him and Toulan.

Smouha have also announced that former manager Mimi Abdel-Razek will return back to be the club’s youth director.
