Al Ahly announce Champions League squad

Al Ahly’s manager Martin Jol has announced the 20-man squad travelling to Angola to face Recreativo Do Libolo in the first round of the CAF Champions League. 

Hossam Ashour and Mohamed Naguib are to miss the match due to injuries as Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim continues to guard Al Ahly’s net as number one goalkeeper  is injured.

Goalkeepers: Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim and Mosaad Awad

Defenders: Sabri Rahel, Saad Samir, Ramy Rabia, Ahmed Hegazy, Mohamed Hany, Bassem Ali and Ahmed Fathy.

Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Waleed Soliman, Abdallah El-Said, Saleh Gomaa, Ahmed Hamdy, Ramadan Sobhy, Ahmed El Sheikh and Momen Zakaria

Forwards: Malick Evouna, Amr Gamal and John Antwi.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
