Hossam Hassan: Our players are fighters
Al Masry sealed an important 1-0 victory against Ittihad El-Shorta in gameweek 21 of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.
Al Masry manager criticised the referees claiming that his team deserved a penalty in Monday’s match, as well as in their match against Al Ahly later last month.
“I respect today’s referees, but I also insist that we should have been awarded a clear penalty,” Hassan said.
“We did deserve a penalty in Al Ahly match that wasn’t awarded as well. It could have changed the match’s circumstances,” he added.
Hassan, who led Al Masry to occupy the third position in the league table so far, praised his players following the match.
“Al Masry players are fighters; they are always ready for a new challenge to prove themselves,” said the former Egypt international striker.
Ahmed Gomaa scored Al Masry’s only goal in the game in the 75th minute of the match that took place at Ismailia Stadium.
“I know the abilities of Ahmed Gomaa very well. It was expected of him to make the difference as any other Al Masry player,” he concluded.
