Five Egyptians qualified to the quarterfinals of El Gouna International, as the pharaohs continue their dominance of the squash world.

World no. 1 Mohamed El Shorbagy made it to the last eight, beating England’s Chris Simpson. Marwan followed in his brother’s footsteps as he clinched his spot in the quarters, beating fellow Egyptian Omar Abdel Meguid.

World no.3 Omar Mossaad also qualified, as he managed to overcome France’s Mathieu Castagnet.

Fares Dessouki and Ali Farag were the last two Egyptians to qualify, both overcoming fellow compatriots in Karim Abdel Gawad and Tarek Momen respectively.

The quarterfinals are set to be played on Wednesday, April 28th, with one guaranteed Egyptian Semifinalist and quite probably more.

Mohamed El Shorbagy is set to face Germany’s Simon Rosner and Omar Mossaad will be up against Miguel Angel Rodriguez.

On the other hand, Ali Farag is set to face world no.2 Gregory Gaultier, while the last quarterfinal will be purely Egyptian, with Marwan El Shorbagy coming up against Fares Dessouki.
