Egypt’s FIFA Ranking remains unchanged in quiet month
There is no change to Egypt’s FIFA Ranking in May’s release. In a quiet month of football, The Pharaoh’s position remained the same as did most countries’.
Egypt are ranked 44th in the World and lie fifth in Africa. They are behind rivals Algeria and the West African trio of Ivory Coast, Ghana and Senegal respectively.
Egypt’s FIFA Ranking remains an important point of interest for the country. This is due to the upcoming CAF’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification draw. Egypt are hoping to be among the top seeds.
The draw will be on 24th June, 2016. Egypt has a chance to seal a top seed place in their friendly against DRC, later this month, ahead of June’s FIFA Rankings release.
The latest FIFA Ranking saw no movement among the top 50 sides. Argentina remain the World’s number one team.
